For financial professionals who want to succeed with a large national bank, hard work, perseverance, and the right attitude will take you a long way. However, A large national bank offers a special program to employees who are serious about furthering themselves. It’s known as Credit Management Training Program and for Robert Bhat, it was an opportunity that he couldn’t afford to miss.

The five month-long intensive training program, which focuses on credit underwriting, general business skills, and strategic client management, takes place in San Francisco, California; the other side of the country for Virginia-native Robert Bhat.

Acceptance into the program is no easy feat and many bank employees who are interested are not selected for participation. The first round of the interview evaluates potential candidates’ knowledge in five areas; covering accounting and finance, sales, and more. Candidates are also judged on their interpersonal skills and career aspirations.

A few days after this first round, candidates will receive notifications if they will be able to move on to the second round. For the second round of interviews, candidates are flown to San Francisco, where they repeat the first interview one-on-one with three to four Wells Fargo managers. However, the process doesn’t end here. More candidates are eliminated until a final, third round where candidates are interviewed by a senior executive of the bank.

For Robert Bhat, being accepted into this program was a great honor. Not only did he excel in his interviews, but Robert Bhat also excelled in the credit management training program. His stellar work in the program propelled him forward to becoming a Relationship Manager with The Bank Public Company, a step up from his previous position as a Credit Analyst.

Robert Bhat is always on the lookout for opportunity. He’s excited to see where his career will take him next!
